Capture Date/Time: October 4 2004 In honor of Pope John Paul II funeral today, I offer a photograph from inside of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, an enclave of Rome. I am not sure if it was appropriate, but for this shot I literally laid down on the floor of the church to look through the camera which was on a mini-tripod held by hand on a small outcropping of a pillar. I really love the mysterious and spiritual feeling of this shot. The second I saw the light spilling through the windows i was filled with awe and a feeling of hope inspired by such a holy place. |
