“The Cage” is where the Santa Margarita Catholic High School Football team does most of it’s lower body strength training. The area consists 10 Squat Racks, 9 Power clean pads and various indoor sleds and drill bags (not pictured). It represents only about 1/5th of the entire lifing area built for the football program many years ago. I have also posted a B&W photo

I was a member of the Charter class of the high school and after college returned to coach Varsity Offensive Line for my Alma Mater. A job I have done for the last 10 years. Many athletes have shed blood, sweat and tears in this area. Some of the more illustrious athletes have been Heisman Trophy winner QB-Carson Palmer (USC, Cincinatti Bengals), Walter Payton Award winner WR-Brian Finneran (Villanova, Atlanta Falcons), Outland Trophy winner OL-Kris Farris (UCLA, Buffalo Bills) as well as almost 100 other future college athletes. So many memories. So much dedication and sacrifice. So many lessons taught and learned. I hope they all remember what all of the hard work was for and why we learn to forge ahead while others turn back.
